Air Freight Chargeable Weight & Volume Rules
Air cargo charges are based on whichever is greater: the Actual Gross Weight (kg) or the Volumetric (Dimensional) Weight (kg). Under IATA standards:
- Standard IATA Divisor: Length (cm) × Width (cm) × Height (cm) ÷ 6,000 = Volumetric Weight in kg (or 1 CBM = 167 kg).
- Express Divisor: Length (cm) × Width (cm) × Height (cm) ÷ 5,000 = Volumetric Weight in kg (or 1 CBM = 200 kg).
